Why you need to save energy

Why is it necessary to save electrical energy

Is it worth saving energy if “everything is fine”?There are huge oil and gas reserves, large hydroelectric power plants and many nuclear reactors. Is it really not enough? It's enough, but you still have to save because...

International Energy Saving Day was launched relatively recently, on November 11, 2008.The initiator of the holiday was the environmental network “School Project for the Use of Resources and Energy”.

It seems that the children have come up with a holiday, let them have fun, the adults don't care.In fact, the holiday was invented not by children, but by adults and responsible people who care about the fate of humanity and the planet.

Unfortunately, not all of us see the need to save energy. It is therefore very important that the initiator of the Energy Saving Day was a school project. If children understand why save energy, they will no longer have to convince adults in the future about the importance of managing resources.

And yet – why? What does saving energy do for us?

1. Money

Everything is easy with money. We use less energy – we pay less for it.Maybe someone makes a contemptuous grimace: “Here, I’m counting meager amounts!”But that's just one of the benefits of saving energy.

2. Comfort

A significant part of energy expenditure is spent on maintaining a comfortable temperature at home and in the office. In winter for heating, in summer for air conditioning.

A correctly configured air conditioning system not only uses energy efficiently, but also ensures pleasant “weather in the house”.In winter no one is cold, in summer no one suffers from constipation.

3. Nature

The share of “green” renewable sources in global energy production is constantly increasing. But the amount of “clean” energy will not soon reach the amount that we get from burning gas, coal and oil products.

By burning hydrocarbons, we release a large amount of substances harmful to all living things into the atmosphere, from which not only we, but also our animals, rivers, forests and lakes suffer.

The less energy we use, the less dirt enters nature, the better our health, the lusher our forests and the cleaner our waters. The more often our children can see a hare, stork or deer not through the bars of a zoo, but on a forest path, outside the window of a train or car.

4. Climate

Not a day goes by without the media reporting on a new hurricane, catastrophic heat wave, flood or drought.Scientists blame global warming and link it to an increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases in the planet's atmosphere.

One of the most potent pollutants in the atmosphere, next to carbon dioxide, is energy.By reducing energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions, we can stop negative climate processes.

Let skeptics argue that nothing has really been proven, that it is possible that the increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases is not a cause but a consequence of warming. Is this a reason to reject something that can harm our planet? Is it too dangerous to wait for reliable confirmation?Who will wait for them and who will need them when the point of no return is passed?Certainly not us and not us.

5. Economy and Technology

The lower the energy costs for production, the lower the price, the higher the competitiveness of our goods, the more efficient the economy.

Efficient energy consumption stimulates scientific thinking and the development of modern technologies.Does anyone remember when American cars stopped pumping gas onto the highways? After the first energy crisis in 1973.

The latest technologies ensure technological leadership, make products even more competitive and increase the country's economic and military security.

6. Children

We all work, have fun, argue about politics and climb the career ladder. But we live for our children, don't we?

The less we use the planet's resources, the more there is left for our children and grandchildren.Isn't it worth saving energy just for that?
